Having gestational diabetes increases the risk of experiencing gestational diabetes in future pregnancies and raises the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes by up to ten times. About 50% of women with gestational diabetes eventually develop type 2 diabetes. The Mommy & Me Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% and help lower the chances of gestational diabetes in future pregnancies. The program provides a full 12 months of support from a Registered Nurse for you and your new baby. Additionally, the program provides health and wellness products for you and your baby for sticking with the program. In-person and virtual sessions available. Program is shown to: - Reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% - Decrease risk of developing gestational diabetes - Improve sleep, memory, balance, and flexibility - Lower your blood pressure and cholesterol - Reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke
